This is a Step-by-Step guide for common editing needs for PowerPoint editable templates. Follow it as you edit your purchased items. These tips will make your presentation editing an easy one and in order to make you rpresentation be a winner one that exceeds your expected success!

EDITING SLIDES USING POWERPOINT

ADDING A NEW SLIDE TO YOUR PRESENTATION
  1. Select the slide that will go before the new slide.
  2. Select Home and then New Slide.
  3. Select Layout and type what you want in the drop-down list.
RE-USE (IMPORT) SLIDES FROM ANOTHER PRESENTATION
  • You can add one or more slides to the presentation from another slide, without having to open the other file.
  • (By default, a copied slide inherits the slide layout after inserting it into the target presentation. However, you can choose to keep the formatting of the slide you are copying in place.)
  • When you import a slide from one presentation into another, it is simply a copy of the original. Changes you make to the copy do not affect the original slide in the other presentation.
REUSING SLIDES
  1. In the slide pane, click where you want to add a slide.
  2. On the Home tab, click the arrow below New Slide, and then select Reuse Slides.
  3. In the Reuse Slides pane, click Open a PowerPoint File.
  4. In the Browse dialog box, locate the file with the slide you want, and click Open.
  5. To add a single slide, click the slide; to add all of the slides, right-click any slide, and select Insert All Slides.
ADDING TEXT AND FORMATTING
  1. Place the cursor where you want and type.
  2. Select the text, then select an option on the Home tab. Font, Font Size, Bold, Italic, Underline, etc.
  3. To create numbered or bulleted lists, select the text, then select Numbering or Bullets.
CHANGING THE SLIDES TEXT COLOR
  1. Select the text that you want to change.
  2. On the Home tab, choose Font Color, and then select the color that you want to change the color of the text to.
SELECT INDIVIDUAL OBJECTS ON A SLIDE

Click on the object to select it. If it is not selected this way, on the Home tab, in the Edit group, click Select and then follow one of these procedures:

  • To select all objects and placeholders on the slide, click Select All.
  • To select objects that are hidden, stacked, or behind text, click Select Objects, and then click and drag over the objects.
  • To open the Selection panel, where you can select, select multiple times, show, hide, or change the order of objects, click Selection panel, and then click the options you want.

  • After selecting the object, you can apply PowerPoint commands and features to that object as usual.
ADD A SHAPE OR CHANGE ITS SIZE
  1. On the Insert tab, click Shapes
  2. Click the shape you want, click anywhere in the workspace, and then drag to place the shape.
  3. To create a perfect square or circle (or constrain the dimensions of other shapes), press and hold Shift while you drag
CHANGE POWERPOINT CHART DATA ON A SLIDE
  1. On the slide, select the chart that you want to change.
  2. A Chart Tools contextual tab will appear at the top of the PowerPoint window.
  3. Under Chart Tools, on the Design tab, in the Data group, click Edit Data.

  5. To edit data in PowerPoint, click Edit Data. This will open a window from your spreadsheet.
  6. To edit data directly in Excel, click Edit Data in Excel.
  7. Make the needed changes. They will be reflected in the PowerPoint chart.
SAVING A PRESENTATION
  1. On the File tab, select Save.

  2. Go to File an then select Save or Save As.

  3. To save to your local drive, such as your laptop, a flash drive, a CD or DVD drive, select Computer.

  4. To save to a SharePoint library, select SharePoint.

  5. Under Save As go to Recent Folders, select Browse, choose a file path and folder, and then name the file.

  6. Select Save.

STARTING A PRESENTATION
  1. In the Slide Show tab, select From Beginning. Now, if you are working with PowerPoint on a single monitor and want to show the Moderator view, in the Slide Show view, in the control bar at the bottom left, select the three dots and then Show Moderator view.

  2. To move to the previous or next slide, select Previous or Next.

  3. To view all slides in the presentation, select View All Slides.

USING POWERPOINT TEMPLATES WITH MICROSOFT WORD

STEPS FOR RUNNING POWERPOINT WITH MICOSOFT WORD
  1. Click the “Microsoft Office” button in PowerPoint.
  2. Go export and select Publish
  3. Click on Create Handouts in Microsoft Word.
  4. A Send to Microsoft Office dialog box will openwith several layout options to choose.
  5. Select the layout that fits your needs.
  6. Select the Paste option.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Microsoft Word will open automatically with the PowerPoint slides inserted into a word document.

USING TEMPLATES WITH GOOGLE SLIDES

STEPS FOR CONVERTING POWERPOINT TO GOOGLE SLIDES
  1. Open Google Drive.
  2. Select “New” in the upper left-hand corner of the screen.
  3. Select “Upload File.”
  4. Select the desired PowerPoint presentation.
  5. After uploading, right click and select “Open with,” then select “Google Slides.”
  6. Select “File.”
  7. Select “Save as Google Slides.”
STEPS FOR CONVERTING POWERPOINT TO GOOGLE SLIDES
  1. Open Google Drive.
  2. Select “New” in the upper left-hand corner of the screen.
  3. Select “Upload File.”
  4. Select the desired PowerPoint presentation.
  5. After uploading, right click and select “Open with,” then select “Google Slides.”
  6. Select “File.”
  7. Select “Save as Google Slides.”
STEPS FOR EXPORTING GOOGLE SLIDES TO POWERPOINT
  1. Open Google Drive in a web browser.
  2. Locate and open the Slides deck that you want to convert to PowerPoint. You can zero in on your slides by clicking the three horizontal lines at the top left of the page and choosing “Slides” from the menu.
  3. In the open presentation, click “File.”
  4. Click “Download” and then click “Microsoft PowerPoint (.pptx).”
